And that’s a wrap on the 2026 CPRV Community Yard Sale.
While our original sale date was rained out, our amazing Yard Sale team quickly made the call to move forward with the more reliable weather window the next day. That decision paid off in a big way.
With 44 homes participating and an outpouring of traffic from shoppers throughout Colonial Place and Riverview, this year’s community yard sale turned into a fun, active, and successful neighborhood event.
From driveways full of treasures to neighbors catching up from porch to porch, it was exactly the kind of day that reminds us why these neighborhood traditions matter. Yes, it was about shopping and selling, but it was also about seeing familiar faces, meeting new neighbors, walking the blocks, and bringing a little extra life to our streets.
A huge thank you goes to our CPRV Yard Sale Sub-Committee, who worked tirelessly to make this event happen.
Organizing a neighborhood-wide yard sale is no small task, even when the weather cooperates. When the date changed, the team had to adjust quickly, communicate updates, and keep everything moving. We are incredibly grateful for their time, flexibility, and dedication.
Thanks also to every resident who participated, promoted their sale, put out signs, welcomed shoppers, and helped make the day feel lively and well attended.
We did receive a few messages following the sale about the scheduled donation truck.
As shared in the email sent the night before the event, once the date changed due to weather, we were unfortunately unable to secure a donation pickup for the new sale date. The team did try to make it happen, and we are sorry for the inconvenience.
For anyone who still has lightly used items they would like to give away, we encourage you to consider sharing them through the local Buy Nothing Facebook group.
It is a great way to keep usable items in circulation and help neighbors find something they may need.
We hope everyone had a great day of shopping, selling, and visiting with neighbors.
Events like this only work because residents show up, participate, adapt, and bring good energy. After a rainy start, the 2026 CPRV Community Yard Sale turned into a wonderful reminder that a little flexibility and a lot of neighborly spirit can go a long way.
Thank you again to our Yard Sale team, participating homes, shoppers, and everyone who helped make this year’s event a success.
We also want to thank Keep Norfolk Beautiful for donating the dumpsters. We know coordinating that support can be a headache, and we truly appreciate their help in making the event easier and cleaner for our neighborhood.
