Civic League General Members Meeting Recap: Monday, May 12, 2025

By Pooya B. Mohit | President, CPRV Civic League

Thank you to all who attended the meeting.
We look forward to seeing you at our next Civic League gathering!

Thank you to everyone who joined us at Kingdom Embassy Ministries for our May Civic League Meeting. We were honored to welcome Ramin Fatehi, Norfolk’s Commonwealth’s Attorney—and a proud Colonial Place resident—as our main speaker. Mr. Fatehi shared insights on justice reform, public safety initiatives, and his 2025 re-election campaign. While a Q&A session followed, no public questions or comments were submitted.

Community Resource Officer Brenton Blakeslee also joined us to deliver the latest Crime Report before we transitioned into board updates:

  • President’s Report: Reminder—our Board Elections will be held at the next meeting on June 9.

  • Treasurer’s Report: Income is up and financials remain healthy.

  • Social Events: Stay tuned for details on Chalk the Walk in June—including an afterparty! Updates will be posted to our Facebook, Instagram, and CPRV.net.

  • Dog Park: James Davis provided an update on improvements, including a new bulletin board for community notices.

  • Media: Since Krissy took the reins of our Instagram account, we’ve gained over 100 new followers! Don’t miss the Cogans Beer Fest fundraiser on Saturday, May 31 from 12–5 PM at Cogans Park—proceeds support the Civic League.

  • Riverview Representative: Patience Macartney shared exciting news that Riverview will be among the first areas to receive ADA-accessible sidewalk ramps as part of a citywide initiative.
