CPRV Civic League Meeting

VP started the meeting at 6:30 p.m.
Board Present/Zoom – President, Vice President, Community Resource, Media, Secretary, and Social.
Speakers – see recording and/or blog online for complete data from speakers.
Councilwoman – Courtney Doyle – fraud/waste/abuse with city government/workers.
Asphalt Art – Melissa Seek – propose project – safety, beautification, and bring community together. Vote to move forward – unanimous in favor at KE/six (6) online.
Community Resource Officer, Norfolk PD – Charles Dreer – crime lower this month; do NOT try to intervene, just get the best details you can. If not in progress, can non-emergency line at 757-441-5610. Kia is putting a fix in place for ease in stealing their vehicles (if no key, can use USB end of charger).
Board updates –
Community Resource – Stephanie – can check crimemapping.com for up to five (5) mile radius.
Media – have the media kit and if you know of anyone interested in advertising have them contact media@cprv.net.
Social – Next meetup 26FEB23 at Reaver Beach (38th/Colley) at 3:30 p.m. Music Video Bingo 4-6 p.m.
Secretary – minutes for approval – approved.
Treasurer (done by President) – treasurer’s report (presented by President) – available upon request.
President – River View (RV) nominee (Patience MacCartney)for RV representative, data in newsletter, and Special Election at March mtg.
V President – no update.
V President – asked for new business.
– Question – do we have an update for when the water work will be done?
– Answer – City Rep will be present with an update in April.

Attention CPRV Parents & Kids of All ages!! Join the Social Events Committee, led by Riverview Neighborhood Representative and event sponsor Patience McCartney, on April 19th for an Easter Egg Hunt in the Delaware x Colonial circle.
Samantha Miller, Environmental Project Coordinator for Elizabeth River Project joined us to share details about Knitting Mill Creek health and Phases 2 and 3 of the Mayflower Path restoration project coming in Spring 2025. See her full presentation from the meeting below.

It was “GAME ON” at the CPRV Community Meetup, at P I X E L S pints & bytes, Saturday, February 15th from 12pm to about 2pm. Neighbors enjoyed a variety of appetizers and refreshments & free game tokens, provided by the civic league’s social events committee and our hosts at Pixels.
The CPRV Civic League’s Social Events Committee invites you to join them for an afternoon of games and nostalgia at @pixels.norfolk on Saturday, February 15th from 12:00pm to 1:30pm, in a reserved space on the 2nd floor. Neighbors of all ages are welcome! The Social Events Committee will provide light refreshments and game tokens will be provided, in part, by our gracious hosts at Pixels.
