E-Waste Drop-Off

ATTN: June’s HRUBS Bill contains incorrect days for e-waste drop-off for Norfolk residents.

The correct days for e-waste drop-off are Tuesday and Saturday, noon – 4:00 PM at the SPSA Norfolk Transfer Station, 3136 Woodland Ave.

E-waste drop-off is NOT available on Thursdays. For questions on e-waste drop-off, call Norfolk Cares at 757-664-6510 or use the Waste Wizard to search item drop-off locations and times.

Recycling Drop-Off Centers: For Non-Curbside Recycling

The City of Norfolk offers two recycling drop-off facilities for Norfolk residents. These sites are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and accepts the same items for recycling that are accepted in the curbside collection program.

  • Towing and Recovery – 1188-A Lance Road

    • Document Shredding: Shredding services are available Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 10:00 PM, and Saturday and Sunday 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
  • Electronic Waste (E-Waste):
    • As of April 14, 2023, electronic waste (e-waste) is no longer accepted at Towing and Recovery, 1188-A Lance Road. Norfolk residents must take all e-waste to the Norfolk SPSA Transfer Station located at 3136 Woodland Avenue, free of charge. Residents can drop off e-waste at the transfer station on Tuesdays & Saturday, noon – 4:00 PM. 

      E-waste must be delivered in a personal vehicle. There is an e-waste disposal limit of five items per visit. Commercial e-waste is not accepted. View a list of acceptable items (PDF).

General Members Meeting | April 8, 2024

We are joined by: 

Courtney Doyle, Norfolk City Councilwoman for Ward 2 gave updates on infrastructure projects in our neighborhood, a safety report on improving rates across our area, implementation of new speed cameras in school zones and more. The presentation was followed by a brief Q&A session. 

Jeremy McGee spoke about his candidacy for Norfolk City Council Ward 6. Mr. McGee spoke about his background, move to Norfolk, local business ownership, civic involvement in Ghent Civic League, Norfolk ARB and now Norfolk Planning. The presentation was followed by a brief Q&A session.

Gosnold Ave – Gravity Sewer Repair

The City of Norfolk’s Department of Utilities has hired East West Construction to repair and rehabilitate the sewer line in your neighborhood along a section of Gosnold Ave. The project area is shown on the map on the back [see below images].

Planned Start of Construction: March 2024
Anticipated End of Construction: June 2024
Access: Access to businesses and residences will be maintained throughout construction with detours around the work zone. The City and our contractor will do our best to minimize the unavoidable disruptions associated with construction.

General Members Meeting | March 11, 2024
