CPRV History: Riverview - 4411 Colonial Ave

4411 Colonial Avenue was built in 1913, by Elijah Jefferson Robertson, who resided there, with his wife, Ella Mae and their son, Robert.


Mr Robertson was a salesman for a wholesale paper company and was also Mayor of Norfolk in 1932.


His grandson, Robert Robertson, Jr., M.D, was instrumental in the establishment and building of Virginia Beach General Hospital on First Colonial Road.


Mr Robertson was known by the nick name of Jeff and is the namesake of “Jeff Robertson Park” at one end of the Elizabeth River Trail in West Ghent.
